Riding my motorcycle thousands of miles has resulted in some compelling, sometimes spine-chilling supernatural manifestations. Take a fun and enjoyable (if slightly spooky) ride along with me as we encounter what one reader has described as a wide array of paranormal experiences with a great range of intensity that locks in the reader for the entire book!
| I have some solid qualifications to have written this book. I am an internationally known professional psychic with a worldwide clientele. As a psychic and paranormal investigator I have had over 800 supernatural experiences. I was a popular featured guest on several large radio stations for 14 years. And I filmed a TV pilot for The History Channel in which I psychically explored the assassination of president Abraham Lincoln. I've also been an avid biker since the age of 15.
By reading my book you'll come ride along with me and take an exciting journey on the highways and byways, our destinations everywhere from the haunted deep woods of Florida's forests, to Savannah, Georgia's famed Bonaventure Cemetery—and even an automobile museum (What a strange place to hunt for ghosts!), with a few flashbacks to my old hometown of San Angelo, Texas.
And you'll experience right along with me: a phone call to a ghost?? Multiple UFO experiences; bizarre mystical weather (are storms intelligent?); Civil War phantoms; interactions with the intelligences behind crop circles; Native American Indian Spirits; haunted forests; EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena...electronic recordings of spirit voices); beloved deceased pets return for a visit; a life-saving Guardian Angel communication; bikers receive a haunting visit from a dear, deceased friend; a haunted camera! And much more!
There have been many books written about ghosts, psychics, and the paranormal—all perennially popular subjects—but I don't know of any other book that combines the biker attitude and lifestyle of roaming freely and at will on a motorcycle across thousands of miles while conducting serious, experienced, and informed paranormal investigation by an internationally known professional psychic with over 45 years professional expertise and a worldwide clientele.
But listen...you don't have to be a biker, or even be interested in motorcycles to enjoy this book.
Riding with Ghosts, Angels, and the Spirits of the Dead is an episodic collection of really good ghost stories...that all happen to be true. But my book is much more than just another collection of ghost stories.
Each unique ghost story, in addition to being entertaining to read, offers up a spiritual truth or insight for further contemplation, such as the fact that powerful, unseen intelligences on the Other Side observe us and listen to us; communicate with us in astonishing ways; are sometimes able to grant our desires; may offer us further insights into the spiritual realm; and can literally save our lives...if we'll listen to them and pay attention.
Now, if you believe in the supernatural you and I will share some common ground in these stories; and you may even gain some spiritual insights that you didn't have before that might prove to be helpful in your daily life. Folks of all faiths and belief systems have enjoyed my book. But if you're not a believer, that's okay too...nearly everybody enjoys a good ghost story, so utilize this book for its entertainment value. But who knows...somewhere along the way...?
Readers of my book will be entertained, given food for thought, and possibly inspired to deepen their own spiritual walk. "behind the scenes" news, and more!
"Riding with Ghosts, Angels, and the Spirits of the Dead is a work of non-fiction in the spiritual, supernatural, and life experience sub-genres, and was penned by author John Russell. An extraordinary and intriguing work, the book explains the pursuits of the author in relation to his psychic and paranormal talents and is written for adult audiences owing to the use of some explicit language on occasion. Working as a professional psychic, we journey with Russell on his motorcycle as he rides from tale to tale, offering historical and contemporary paranormal experiences or, as the author himself puts it, some really entertaining ghost stories which also happen to be true.
"Whether you fully believe in paranormal phenomena or not, author John Russell delivers a superbly well-penned and highly engaging collection of tales to enjoy. The series of stories and essays are all episodic in nature, meaning that you can turn to any story in any order and really enjoy it as a capsule of intrigue, humor, darkness, and discovery. What won me over time and again was the spirit of the author himself, whose nature is easy-going and enthusiastic in his pursuit and depiction of his many different experiences. This makes the book a true winner on every page for its writing style alone. Overall, I would highly recommend Riding with Ghosts, Angels, and the Spirits of the Dead to all readers who enjoy exploring the true-life paranormal experiences of others and take an interest in the psychic profession." — Reviewed by K.C. "John Russell—a biker who happens to be a gifted psychic—takes readers on a thrilling ride off the beaten path in this new motorcycle memoir. Fascinating and well written, these thought-provoking recollections of true experiences offer inspiration and entertainment for believers and non-believers alike." — Martha Lawrence, internationally known award winning author of Pisces Rising; coauthor of Trust Works! Executive Editor, The Ken Blanchard Companies
"In his book, Riding with Ghosts, Angels and the Spirits of the Dead, John Russell takes us on many road trips that are exciting, adventurous, entertaining, and often, scary. When he and his beloved motorcycle, "Melissa," hit the pavement, nothing short of extraordinary happens. Having experienced over 800 supernatural occurrences along the highways and byways of America, he shares his amazing adventures with us. Sprinkled with humor and quite a bit of philosophy, the book takes us along with John, to places we might not have dreamed of visiting, and opens up a world of new understanding.
"It's hard to be a naysayer after reading this book, because the author gives us no reason to doubt his experiences. From strange clouds that seem to only hover over just his bike, and no one else's, to owls and Indian spirits guiding his path, each story begs us to continue to read another, and another.
"From beginning to end, Riding with Ghosts..., is fun, enlightening and informative. The sage in John Russell shows himself, as he gently shares his views of not only his experiences, but the world and its people. It is an interesting read, and one which you will not soon forget." — Adrian Calabrese, Ph.D., author of How to Get Everything You Ever Wanted; 10 Spiritual Steps to a Magical Life; Sacred Signs
"Insightful and poignant. John deftly erases the line between what happens here & now, and what happens on the other side through his engaging stories. Riding with Ghosts will help you understand there is no such thing as coincidence, but plenty of eye-opening evidence of connections." — Jim Mullen, multi-award-winning television producer/editor/writer (Jim was my producer for my TV pilot for The History Channel)
"Russell offers stories and insights from his experiences as a fun-loving, motorcycle-riding medium.
"The author writes that he's been a psychic for more than 45 years, and that he's had more than 800 paranormal experiences during that time. His account of these brushes with the beyond range from the uncanny to the heartwarming, and according to Russell, they've given him unique insight into the world of the supernatural. Over the course of 15 chapters, he takes readers through some of these incredible encounters and relates the lessons he's learned from them. All but one of the chapters are dedicated to a specific paranormal experience, and the book jumps between different points in Russell's spiritual journey. They include the story of how "the Other Side" enabled Russell to find closure regarding a personal obsession; the discovery of Abraham Lincoln's hearse; and mysterious graves in Banana, Florida. There's even a surreal tale about how he believes that the Other Side answered his curiosity about crop circles through a series of signs. Among the most entertaining accounts in this memoir is of Russell's first encounter with UFOs, about which the then 20-something psychic was initially skeptical. Overall, the author presents an accessible page-turner, written in a lively but matter-of-fact tone. There are heartfelt and inspiring stories about visitations from the spirits of deceased pets and about entities from beyond offering protection in times of danger, and they strike the reassuring notes that fans of supernatural stories will appreciate. However, Russell's work is neither solemn nor preachy. Instead, he maintains a lighthearted tone throughout, offering many funny moments. Moreover, he embraces the confusion and chaos of the supernatural, never suggesting that he has answers to every question.
"Devout spiritualists and supernatural curiosity seekers will both enjoy this memoir." — KIRKUS REVIEWS

Psychic John Russell was filmed under the direction of multi-award-winning producer Jim Mullen for a TV pilot for The History Channel where John psychically investigated mysteries of the past, specifically the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.
In regard to John's TV pilot Jim Mullen said, "As a TV Producer, you have to be open minded about the unorthodox, while still retaining a healthy cynicism. After all, the last thing you want to do is pull one over on the viewer.
"When I produced John's pilot for the History Channel, I walked into the scenario weighted toward the cynical side. But John, in his humble and understated way, blew away all expectations.
"His insights into historical and current events (of which he had ABSOLUTELY NO knowledge of before being thrust into the situation) were nothing short of astounding. When you leave the country's foremost Lincoln scholars wanting for more, you know there's something big going on."
Jim Mullen, New York City

An explanation of the Forest EVP: I was attempting to record EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena...electronic recordings of spirit voices) in the forest of one of our state parks. This startlingly clear voice says, "Peekaboo." There were no other people in the forest and nothing else that could account for this voice, which I did not hear with my ears at the time but is clearly audible in my recording.
The spirits obviously wanted me to know that they were watching me that day!
