Frequently Asked Questions

I don't see a signature on any of your photographs; do you not sign your work?

I have never signed my photographs. I believe a signature scrawled across the picture plane spoils the photograph and ruins the viewing experience. That's my opinion and what I prefer to practice in the display of my art; it's not meant as an indictment of any other photographer's choice.
As a matter of fact it's become increasingly distasteful to me to sign my paintings, but the art world seems to nearly demand it so I give in to that convention.

Why are your paintings sold unframed?

Many collectors prefer to hang contemporary paintings unframed, or to choose the frames themselves. When I hang my paintings in my home I prefer to hang them unframed. I extend the background color of the painting to all of the visible sides of the canvas so there's no garish flash of white canvas showing.
It's really a matter of personal choice: just as some collectors prefer to buy artwork framed, others don't; some galleries require that all paintings be framed, others do not have that requirement.
When you purchase fine art display it in a manner that satisfies you.

Are your photographs produced as limited editions?

Unless stated otherwise all of my photographs are in open editions. At some point I may produce a series of limited edition, signed and numbered prints, but for now all photographs are open editions.
I do not make prints from my paintings so when you purchase a painting from me you buy the one and only original.

Some of the descriptions of your photographs state that they are matted and framed; other descriptions state that they are only framed. Is this an error?

Good question. No, it's not an error. I prefer to mat photographs when I can, but some photographs seem impossible to correlate with a good mat color so for those photographs I skip the mat.

I notice that some of the photographs are almost identical in size but one may be more expensive than the other; why is that?

The different prices reflect my choice of different matting and framing materials; some mats and frames are more expensive than others. I attempt to create a fine quality finished product for you while holding costs down as much as possible.

I would like to purchase more than one work of art from you; do you give discounts for multiple purchases made at one time?

I do give a discount for multiple purchases made at once, yes. Please call me: (386) 586-7640 and we will discuss the matter further.

Are the photographs available in other sizes? Or what if I like a photograph but rather than purchase it matted and framed I had rather have it as a Gallery Wrapped Canvas?

Again, call me: (386) 586-7640 and we can discuss size, presentation options, and price. It's a little unwieldy to try and present on my website every option that's available.
Also, at some point, optimal size considerations must be taken into account so that my photographs are presented at their sharpest and clearest resolutions. Sometimes bigger is not always better.

Please feel free to e-mail me or to call me with any questions. I'm always happy to hear from you.
